One of the surfers competing in the Billabong Pro Tahiti 2011 which attracted the best surfers to the world’s heaviest wave in Teahupo’oi. Ultimately, American Kelly Slater got the better of Australian Owen Wright in the final heat, which adds to Slater’s 10 ASP World Championships. On the presentation stage, Slater dedicated his win to the late Andy Irons. “Andy won last year and it feels really special to win this year knowing that,” Slater said.
