Three fighter jets - Two French Air Force Mirage 2000s and an RAF Typhoon, made emergency landings in Malta today after running short of fuel.

The aircraft were involved in operations over Libya.

The Mirages flew to Malta in the morning and left in the afternoon. The top-of-the-range Typhoon landed at about 2.30 p.m.
