Even if you don’t know the words to the songs, the reverie at the Jordaan Festival will have you humming along. The annual three-day festival in Amsterdam’s arty Jordan area features a flea market, auctions and plenty of music performances.
Dutch music is at the heart of the huge street party that is the Jordaan Festival. To be exact, corny Dutch ballads that everyone knows but are often too embarrassed to admit to. During the Jordaan Festival, however, there are no restraints and everyone belts them out.
When it is time to give the vocal chords a rest, wander around the flea market and pick up unique wares from clothes to jewellery and furniture and enjoy a variety of food and drinks courtesy of local bars and restaurants.
Fly to Amserdam direct with Air Malta or fly to relatively close Eindhoven with Ryanair.
