Il-Majjistral Nature and History Park continued to play an educational role this summer, with activities for the public and a focus on the coastal area and the sea.

Over 400 people participated in the park’s summer events, ranging from guided walks at sunset, summer school visits, Blue Flag events, talks on astronomy, tasting of local produce and guided snorkelling sessions.

The park authorities thanked the Malta Tourism Authority and Selkies Diving for sponsoring a number of events, as well as the park’s collaborators for the summer activities: Sharklab Malta, Manikata Farmers Cooperative and the Astronomical Society of Malta.

Il-Majjistral Nature and History Park (www.majjistral.org) is located in Mellieħa and can be visited any time on foot or by joining a guided walk. To mark the end of summer, the park held its last activity for the season with a short guided walk of two kilometres, lasting around one-and-a-half hours, near Anchor Bay yesterday.

The autumn walking season will kick off soon with guided walks offered every Sunday for €5 per person (subject to a minimum number of bookings).

For bookings and information e-mail Annalise Falzon on walks@majjistral.org.

Upcoming events can also be seen on the park’s Facebook page.
