• A days outing in aid of the Little Sisters of the Poor will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel, St Georges Bay, on Wednesday from 10 a.m. For bookings phone Blanche Martin on 2133 0387.

• Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar is holding a discussion and dinner event in Gozo on Wednesday. The evening will start at 6.30 p.m. with a presentation and discussion on how members the public can protect their heritage, property and quality of life. This will be followed by a three-course dinner on the terrace of the Country Terrace restaurant, with views of Mġarr harbour and the Gozo Channel. Transport from Mġarr harbour and back after the dinner is available for guests who wish to leave their cars in Malta. The evening costs €25 per person. • A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and for priestly and religious vocations will be held on Saturday at St Venera parish church. The prayer meeting starts at 9.45 p.m. with Mass followed by adoration till midnight.

• The Jean Monnet Chair at the University of Malta with the support of the European Commission and in collaboration with the Assoċjazzjoni Maltija Għall-Istudji Tad-Dritt Ewropew is holding its second Rights and Remedies Conference on September 15 at the Corinthia Hotel, St George’s Bay, St Julian’s. • The Association of Lyceum Past Students is leading a cultural tour of Rabat and Mdina on September 17.
