Laiq Ahmed Atif, president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta, distributed packets of fruit to families living at Ħal Far refugee centre last Monday.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat is committed to helping those in need, irrespective of their faith, creed, nationality or politics.

It organises charity events for vulnerable people throughout the year, but especially before the celebration of Eid festival at the end of Ramadan, a month of sacrifices, self-purification and fasting.

Fasting during Ramadan inspires sympathy for the hungry and poor and encourages Muslims to donate generously to those who need it the most, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat said.
