• The Puttinu Cares Gozo Committee holds a car boot in aid of Puttinu Cares today at Marsalforn car park between 8.30 a.m. and 7 p.m.

• Xlendi celebrates the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel today. Pontifical High Mass will be led by Gozo Bishop Mario Grech at 10 a.m.

A water feast and ġostra will take place between 3 and 6 p.m., organised by Xlendi Church Aquatic Committee. The procession starts at 7.30 p.m., with the participation of the Ite ad Joseph Qala Band.

Celebrations come to an end at 9.30 p.m. with the Eucharistic benediction. Feast mementos by Peter Lovewell will be given out in church, followed by a fireworks display by Fontana Brothers. Morning Masses at 6, 8 and 10 p.m. Evening Mass at 6 p.m.

• The National and Regional Celebrations Committee within the Gozo Ministry will hold a Victory Day commemoration at Independence Square, Victoria, today at 11 a.m.

• Xagħra parish, in conjunction with the council, is organising a ceremony on Wednesday at Victory Square to commemorate the Great Siege of Malta. The commemoration starts at 9 a.m with a solemn thanksgiving Mass led by Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca.

At 10 a.m., the ceremony continues with a re-enactment by the Xagħra Historical Re-enactment Organisation, followed by a speech by Ivan Attard and the laying of wreaths.

• Xagħra will be celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Victories on Thursday. Horse and donkey races will be held today at 8 a.m. in Triq tal-Qaċċa.

Bishop Mario Grech will lead a Pontifical High Mass on Thursday at 9 a.m. A Maria Immacolata Mass by Mro Bugeja will be performed by the Jesus of Nazareth choir under the direction of Mro Salv Galea. The procession starts at 7 p.m. The Victory Band will take part, while the Leone Band will perform a musical programme at Victory Square.

• In preparation for the coming feast of Our Lady of Graces, which will be celebrated by the Capuchin Friars of Victoria next Sunday, the statue of Our Lady will be taken out of its niche today at about 10 a.m.

On Thursday,Fr Joe Muscat, OFM Cap., celebrates Mass at 9 a.m. Babies and toddlers will be presented to Our Lady. On the same day, at 10 a.m., there will be a ‘Sports Festival’ for children and adolescents on the parvis of the sanctuary. Those interested can call Joe Grech on 2155 6608.

• Masses at Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary will be held today at 6.15 , 8.30, 10 and 11.15 a.m. and 5 p.m. At 6 p.m., there will be the recital of the Rosary, followed by Eucharistic benediction.

• The Delicata Wine Festival at Ġnien il-Kunsill, Nadur, will open today at 7 p.m.

• The sixth Qala International Folk Festival will take place betweenSeptember 15 and 18.

• ‘Memories from the last World War - A journey of exhibitions through faith, history and art’ is on display at Dar l-Imnarja, Pjazza 28 ta’ April 1688, Nadur, until next Sunday. Opening hours are from 9 to 11.30 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

• Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead a diocesan pilgrimage to the Shrine of the Nativity of Our Lady in Mellieħa on Tuesday. The pilgrimage will leave Mġarr at 5.15 p.m. and return with the 9 p.m. boat. Tickets are available from Gozo parishes.

• San Lawrenz council is holding its third biennial event – 3D – on September 10 from 9 p.m. onwards at the main square in San Lawrenz. The square will be transformed into an open-air theatre with entertainment for everyone.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Movement will hold a prayer evening at Sannat parish church on Saturday at 8.30 p.m., followed by Mass at midnight.

• ‘Heritage in Stone’, a collective art exhibition, will be on display at the Exhibition Hall of the Gozo Ministry in Victoria. The exhibition, organised by the Housing Authority, will be open from Saturday to September 30, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
