PN hits out at media stories on home affairs minister
The Nationalist Party this morning criticised a story in One News which claimed that Home Affairs Minister Carm Mifsud Bonnici may be replaced by Beppe Fenech Adami. The story was also features in l-orizzont.
In a statement, the party said that Labour leader Joseph Muscat knew that Dr Mifsud Bonnici was in hospital, but this did not stop his media from stooping so low as "to fabricate a shallow and scandalous story. To add insult to injury, it was claimed that " in order to justify this move, health reasons will be mentioned as the cause for his removal ".
This, the PN said, showed the PL to be cold, shameless, and highly unethical.
"The shameless and highly unethical story on One News was penned by someone who until a few days ago was Joseph Muscat's personal assistant. Today he heads the Labour Party media. Through this appointment, Joseph Muscat wanted to make sure that he has total control of the Labour media. Hence, Joseph Muscat was aware and had a hand in that disgusting story," the PN said.
"When Joseph Muscat was elected Party leader, he appointed a committee to draw up a code of ethics for the Labour Party media. Back then, he had pledged that under his leadership the Labour Party journalists will be ethical in their work and the stories they report. Now, it is clear that that was a superficial exercise, typical of Joseph Muscat, to give the impression that he means business and that he is all for ethical reporting – when he is not," the PN said.

If anyone should resign it's Austin Gatt for the fiasco he caused Malta in the Public transport Arriva system! Neither Dolores Cristina felt the need to step down after losing students the EU funds but let her staff carry the can - Hitting a man when he's down like in the case of the Justice Minister smacks too much of petty personal orchestrated interest from someone who has his eye on the job!!

Oh come on, I'm all about ditching this government down the drain, but you can't ignore the fact that a change in politics has happened a long time ago, yes, thanks to Dr Gonzi's party.

Tghoddhom fuq subghajk dawk li lil Dr Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici xtaqulu fejqan malajr. Jien jiddispjacini hafna ghalih, ghax kif nghidu, tifel sew hafna. Mhux dejjem naqbel mieghu u f'kollox, imma meta jkun ma jiflahx ninsa l-ftit differenzi u minn qalbi nixtiequ s-sahha. Kieku kont jien, nassigurakom li anke hu u missieru kienu jhossu ghaliha ghax huma nies sew.
Jixraq dejjem li meta bniedem ikun marid, u hu min jaf x'ikun qed ihoss, dawn l-affarijiet jibqghu privati. Wara kollox kulhadd taht sema wiehed.

WHILE WISHING THE MINISTER A SPEEDY RECOVERY,THE
STORY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS HEALTH.
THE MINISTER HAS DEFINETELY NOT DELIVERED AS THE JUSTICE SYSTEM LEAVES OF LOT TO BE DESIRED EVEN AFTER SOME REFORMS THAT WERE MADE IN ATTEMPT TO IMPROVE IT.
THE PN SHOULD BE THE LAST ENTITY TO COMPLAIN ABOUT NON-ETHICAL JOURNALISM SINCE THE PN MEDIA ARE EXPERTS AT IT.

I'm not saying that what One News did was right. But have you all forgotten when Dr. Sant was in hospital just before the 2008 elections? Have you all forgotten when he had to have surgery on his eyes? Have you all forgotten the mudslinging because he was separated? Have you forgotten the lies said and reported about him that he was drunk? Come on. This is not politics. This is tribal warfare typical maltese style!

Pat , voters have a right to know to whom they are voting .
A prime minister with a serious health problem is one thing, a minister on sick leave is another. Hopefully Carm’s sickness is not serious .

When Alfred Sant was in hospital in 2008, the Prime Minister had issued a press release to wish him well and the PN had done the same. The Nationalist media did not play any tricks and did not speculate.

It seems that the PN and its apologists have two weights and two measures. When Alfred Sand had an operation due to a cancerous growth, they said it was in the interest of the public to know exactly what he had and what was being done about it. They where even the first to say that he had cancer. Now they expect everyone to shut his mouth. Whatever the minister has according to the same people who expected to be informed about Alfred Sant's condition, we should be informed about the minister's condition and health.
Had they informed the public, one news would not have had the chance to fabricte anything. The usual two weights two measuires.

Veru partit laborista bil Media b'kollox li tistmaw lill partitarji tagħkom nies b'inteliġenza baxxa,
Il-poplu Malti huwa ħafna iżjed inteliġenti minn kemm jistmaħ il-partit laborista!
Mela minn ikun jirrispettak jigdiblek, jew jipprova jbellalek il-praspar, u jiġbidlek saqajk!
Taħsbu intom li b'dawn il-ħrejjef, brikkunati u invenzjonijiet, il-poplu Malti ser javdakom biex tkunu xi' darba fil-gvern?
Huwa qiegħdin fl''oppożizzjoni u qed tagħmlu dawn l-affarijiet aħseb u ara jekk tkunu fil-gvern x''fabrika tal-gideb u brikkunati ser ikollna!
Istħu istmaw lill-poplu inteliġenti Malti b'dan il-mod!
Poplu Malti u Għawdxi ħsiebek hemm għax dawn għadhom ma inbidlux, u mhux ser jinbidlu, għax ma jridux jinbidlu, u allura il-wied minn fejn għadda għad jerġa jgħaddi, jekk tafda lill-partit Laborista, imbgħad miskin int!

Elsewhere, one can also read that Carm Mifsud Bonnici has been in and out of hospital for the past three weeks.
There is no way in hell that no one from the Labour Party or the ONE newsroom did not know about his convalescence. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them went to pay him a visit at MDH as well.
I guess that ONE's new motto should start reading "Setting ever lower standards in journalism"

It's incredible how sensitive the PN becomes when it's one of their own under the spotlight.
Have they forgotten how, when Alfred Sant had an eye-operation and had to wear sunglasses, their cameramen showed nothing except close-ups of his face for the next week?
Incredible hypocrisy.

R.Saliba - What Mr Laviera said is that the PN should not be scandalised because someone is using their own tactics even if on a smaller scale. As the saying goes "What is good for the goose is good for the gender".
Anyway back in 2008, the PN media gave a full account of Dr Sant's illness, because they said that since he is the leader of the oppisition the Nation has a right to know what he has, and how he is. Now they should have been the first to tell us what the Minister has and how he is. It's no use beating about the bush, what was right then is right now period.

This, the PN said, showed the PL to be cold, shameless, and highly unethical.
Ara veru tal-PN tilfu kull direzzjoni. Lanqas jisthu minn Alla li hallaqhom.
Jekk Tal-PL huma cold tal-PN huma hodor u bla kuxjenza la socjali u lanqas Kristjana li tant jiftahru kemm ivvuttaw le ghad-divorzju.

Highly unethical! again lanqas jisthu minn Alla li hallqhom!. Mela meta Gonzi baghat kemm Alla halaq ittri lil- tad-drydocks, tas-Sea Malta, tat-telemalta ta` l-Air Malta , lil patafjun ta` ittri lin-nies fejn hahdmu li jekk jidhlu fl-unjoni europea mhux se jitilfu xoghlhom u ballec dawn kollha spiccaw minghajr xoghol, dan ethical sur Gonzi ippokritta u qarrieq? For those who never experienced the State Radio/TV (Xandir Malta) during Labour’s golden years , this would have been a typical report in the eight o’clock news.

Before the last election we were spared this backbiting from Labour, because they had an imaginary 20,000 vote majority over the PN on their side.
Not so sure now are they? They're back to the mud-slinging antics of the EU Referendum and subsequent election campaign....

As an independent voter, I definitely will not vote for Dr. JM., so one can say I am one with a limited choice for who to vote, considering that as of lately the PN are not much doing better.
But, when both parties are put to scale I believe the biggest asset for the PN is this new star Dr. JM. and his new found friends I saw him drinking with lately.
As they say Joseph keep it up.

Mud Slinging? hmm i think PL learnt its tactics from the PN (about time as well) lets say a Taste of their own Medicine !!
