Marsaxlokk FC president Robert Micallef was yesterday handed a long-term ban that will keep him away from the bench until the end of February, 2012.

Micallef received a six-month ban and in other sanctions against Marsaxlokk Clive Brincat was suspended for the next three matches and fellow defender Trevor Templeman the next two.

With Marsaxlokk trailing 1-2 to Hibs on Friday, Templeman was dismissed for retaliation. The match became abrasive after that but no other player was red-carded even though there were some light skirmishes in the tunnel.

It is understood that the Disciplinary Commission had based their decisions on a report by the match officials.

Meanwhile, two other players who were shown a red card last weekend, Andrew Decesare, of Birkirkara, and Pedro Calcado, of Balzan, were banned for one match.
