Senior members of the Libyan provisional government were in Malta for a few hours on their way to a Paris summit of 'friends of Libya' which will discuss the country's future.
The National Transitional Council's Justice Minister, Mohammed al-Alagi, Information Minister Mahmoud El-Shammam and Sorbonne-trained lawyer Anwar Fekmi flew in at about midnight on a leased Maltese private jet.
They were joined in the morning by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, who was invited to accompany the delegation on the flight to Paris as a sign of appreciation for Malta's role in coordinating humanitarian aid to the North African neighbour.
Dr Gonzi is attending the summit following an invitation by French President Nicolas Sarkozy and British Prime Minister David Cameron.
Mr El-Shammam is seen in the video above speaking to reporters at the Corinthia Hotel Tripoli. He insisted that Algeria must return members of the Gaddafi family who sought refuge there.
