A quick browse on the web reveals that Discovery Networks are phasing out Travel and Living and replacing it with TLC in all it's regions. Guess it was a question of 'when' rather than 'if'... Let's hope in some fresh content now afterall!

Was Discovery Travel and Living another channel being transmitted without permission/payment ?
Why was Discovery Travel and Living replaced ?
From the sound of TLC it sounds like a channel to definitely zap over.

I am a woman I am NOT between the ages of 24 and 49 and I also HATE girlie programmes about fashion, make up and Filmstars for vain self obsessed women. I like the Travel and Living Channel! I fillow Kate Gosellin and her lovely kids, I watch Cake Boss with Buddy Valastro and his family and I am also following the Family Fat surgeons with brave Allen Mata losing that huge amount of weight. Touch it and 'GO' can GO to Hell and will lose a subscriber!!!!!!!!!! No one ever gets a bloody choice do they?

Are you on the payrole MR Thomas Degiorgio? You seem to be following me around the comment pages with the same message. It's called stalking you know?
Thank you for calling me' MR' after I stated quite clearly in an earlier post that my husband and I purchased the home pack. Your rudeness makes me nearly as angry as GO do. Or arrogance should I say

Travel and Living was one of the few channels that made the GO+ Silver package worthwhile and it is also enjoyed by my wife. This TLC replacement promises to be another channel loaded with poor quality entertainment that I will definitely not watch and that probably not even my wife will enjoy. I do not anticipate any enlightening content from "the life of a polygamist family living in Utah, with patriarch Kody Brown, his four wives and their 16 children"
The removal of Travel and Living will therefore take us one step closer to an alternative TV service!

What about Travel and Living? I signed up for two years SPECIFICALLY to enjoy a lost of pre-determined channels, and now they take off the channels I like the most. This is so unfair.

WE don't count I'm afraid, WE are only the customers! UK Living was removed as they paid no license for it and now, without warning we lose another good channel. 2 years this darn contract was for and I just want to tear it up! GO is getting too big for it's ruddy boots!

Bull....where is the Communication Authority? They should verify the viewership of the stations being removed and confirm that the new channels are not that good, especially considering that the TLC is only for woman whereas the Travel & Living was one fo the best of the Discovery Channels and was for all the family.
I do not think I will renew next time round my contract as I am fed for being taken for a ride with these service providers. Instead it is better to break the law and use the satellite.
Mr charles vella

Satellite is not against the law! You can get fantastic channels such as FX, Fox Movies, FOX, MBC 2, 3, 4, Dubai One and other great channels on Nilesat for FREE, as they are FREE to air! Just get a 1 metre dish and a free to air STB! Simple! And enjoy MORE THEN A THOUSAND CHANNELS!! ...few know there is an alternative to Melita or Go... Satellite and get it hooked to Nilesat!

Too right! I am absolutely livid! I have just telephoned GO and demanded to know why Travel and Living is being replaced by rubbish.and they are very well rehearsed. They blame Discovery for making the change and take no blame themselves. My husband and I opened a new 'Home pack' contract with them this week and absolutely NOTHING was mentioned when they greedily took our money!!
I am female but it still doesn't stop me from wanting to throw up at all the gushing pathetic female biased programs on the TV these days. What little there is that is decent to watch is taken away, like UK Living!!! FUMING is just the beginning of how I feel!
Mr Alfred Camenzuli

I second that remark as well I will for sure do not renew my contract with GO.
Mr Joseph Micallef

This is not an addition - this is replacing a good channel with another one which might not be as good. This is in fact replacing a channel that pleased all the family to one aimed at women only (so says the article above)! Did GO think we were nitwit idiots of some kind?!!
Charles Micallef

AND WHAT HAPPENS TO COMEDY CHANNEL.
MELITA HAVE GOT ANOTHER COMEDY CHANNEL...AND GO?
Mr F J Brincat
Aug 30th 2011, 18:47
If it is replacing another channel then it is not an "addition"
"......the amazing must-have channel for female viewers in the Maltese Islands. "
"It broadcasts lifestyle, reality and inspirational entertainment programmes from around the world"
"Top new series on the channel at launch include Sister Wives, which documents the life of a polygamist family living in Utah, with patriarch Kody Brown, his four wives and their 16 children."
Certainly sounds inspirational...
"Happily Every Laughter featuring the wildest, hilarious moments from bachelor and bachelorette parties and other events" What other events? Funerals? Weddings? Bar Mitzvahs?
But the most cutting edge is... "My Secret Body that follows the journey of tormented persons as they struggle with hiding an embarrassing secret about their bodies"
But then this channel is "aimed at women aged between 25 and 49" so that's allright then.
Mr Martin Saliba

Discovery travel and living is a channel worth watching by all. It is not right that it is being replaced by a channel full of crap that keeps women glued to the screen watching crap.
