Obituary
BIANCHI. On August 28, BLANCHE, née Ayoub, passed away peacefully at her home in Madliena, comforted by rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her loving husband Vivian, her daughter Patricia Apap Bologna and her husband Michael, her son Ralph and his wife Elizabeth, her son Michael, their families, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her brother Robert Ayoub, who came from France to be at her side. The funeral will take place privately today.
MONTANARO. On August 28, at Mater Dei Hospital, VINCENZO, aged 81, passed away peacefully comforted by rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Antonia, his children Tessie and husband Martin, Paul and wife Maryann, Mario and wife Elizabeth, his grandchildren Abigail and boyfriend Winston, Daphne, Kirsty, Selenia and boyfriend Lydon, Petra and boyfriend Mark, Tiziana and boyfriend Sean-Paul, Gabriella, his sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated tomorrow at the Msida parish church at 8 a.m. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated. The family thank doctors and staff at Mater Dei for their care and dedication. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
SALIBA. On August 26, EMANUEL of Victoria, aged 75, diocesan president of the Catholic Action, passed away suddenly but peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Rose, his son Fr Anthony Mario, his daughter Carol and her husband Michael Caruana and his grandchildren Claire, Joseph and Mario; his brothers Lino, Vincent and Fr Francis and their in-laws, nephews and nieces; the Gozo Cathedral parish of Santa Marija, the Leone Philharmonic Society and members of the Gozo Catholic Action. The funeral leaves the Franciscan church in Palm Street, Victoria, today at 4.30 p.m. for Gozo Cathedral, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 5 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
SPITERI. On August 27, at St Vincent de Paul Residence, MATILDE, aged 78, widow of Michael, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Christopher and his wife Josette, her brother and sisters, and their respective spouses, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence tomorrow at 2 p.m. for St Gaetan’s parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Children’s week at supermarket
A children’s week will be held at GS Superstore, Naxxar between today and Saturday where children can meet cartoon characters including Buzz light-year, Potato Head, Woody, Shrek, Mickey & Minnie, Hello Kitty, Sponge Bob, Barney, Popeye and Olivia, Kung Fu Panda, Dora and Ben 10. Children can collect a free goodie bag, play games, paint each other’s faces, watch movies and get free popcorn. There will be power cuts in the following localities tomorrow:
From 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Ras Il-Ġebel alley and Qaċċawiet and Ras Il-Ġebel streets in Xgħajra and in Bergamott, Farinal, Spring and Winter streets in Mosta.
From 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in Għar Il-Lembi Street and Tower Road in Sliema.
From 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. in Annunciation Street in Mosta.
Annual get-together
The Lay Fraternity of Charles de Foucauld (Gozo) will hold its annual summer get-together tomorrow, starting with Mass at 7.15 p.m. at Salesian Sisters’ summer residence, Don Bosco House, Xwejni Street, Qbajjar, followed by a social activity in the vicinity.
