Three arrested in drug operations

The police yesterday arrested three men at the end of two separate drug operations.

Two of the men – a German and a Maltese resident in Sta Venera – were arrested following the discovery of 600 grams of cocaine.

The police said the operation started yesterday afternoon when the German, who was born in Poland and lives in Holland, flew in from Eindhoven. He was found to be carrying cocaine in capsules.

The Maltese man, 36, was due to receive the drug.

The police also reported that a Sudanese man was arrested in Paceville last night after he was found trafficking in cannabis. The man, 27, is resident in Sliema.

Excellent idea - but a non runner politically.
What we will get is many years delay before any sort of trial and the usual 5 day week for the courts no matter how big the backlog of court cases.
