An old VC-10 transport aircraft of the Royal Air Force flew in at Malta International Airport this morning.
The four-engined VC-10 started its life as a commercial jetliner in the early 1960s and quickly established itself as one of the fastest and most comfortable jetliners of its time.
Its design stands out for the fact that it has two engines on each side of the tail.
The RAF started using VC-10s in 1965 and now has 13 aircraft of the type, which are used for aerial refuelling and transport purposes.
The purpose of the visit to MIA this morning is not known.
