Din l-Art Ħelwa’s international restoration camp will this year take place at Torri Mamo between September 9 and 19.
The 1657 fortified country home, which commands views of St Thomas Bay, is held in guardianship by Din l-Art Ħelwa and is unique because it has 16 sides and an internal circular domed hall.
The programme will focus on the restoration of fortifications and in particular on stone deterioration. There will be workshops and on-the-job training given under the supervision of qualified restorers.
Participants will be given the opportunity to network with volunteers from France who will be dedicating time to learn and carry out hands-on restoration work.
Free time will be filled with cultural visits and activities.
