It’s hard to believe Red Electrick have only been around for three years.

In what is a relatively short tenure on the Maltese music scene, the band has successfully garnered several local awards as well as a constantly-growing audience with their energetic live performances and infectious mix of indie-pop and rock.

Fuelled by the popularity that hit songs such as The End Of It All and Who The Heck Is Rek generated, they honed their act with performances in Austria and Denmark, and in a few days’ time, the five young musicians will once again face the challenge of a brand new audience when they take to the stage at various venues around London.

Starting from Saturday, Red Electrick will embark on a 10-date tour around the British capital, performing at some of the most prestigious venues this global music city has to offer.

These include the Dublin Castle in Camden, renowned as the ‘birthplace’ of North London legends Madness, Proud Galleries, whose stage has previously hosted Florence and The Machine and Amy Winehouse among others, and the acclaimed O2 Academy in Islington, whose roster of artists during the past two years has featured the likes of Kiss, Paramore, Bullet For My Valentine and many of the industry’s top acts.

As one can imagine, the band can’t wait for its imminent London tour to kick off.

“We are super excited about this tour, not only because we are going to be gigging frequently, which is an amazing experience in itself, but also about the experience of living and being on the road with your best mates, which is what the band is all about.”

Perhaps another reason they are excited is that this tour also marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band.

“We’ve grown from a garage band into a leading name on the local scene; this experience will surely help us grow even more as we prepare to start working on our next album.” Above all, one might also see this venture as proof that with enough ambition and talent a band can achieve high standards irrespective of age or genre.
