Malta vs The Rest match-up at RMGC in September

Bank of Valletta has just signed a collaborative agreement with the Royal Malta Golf Club (RMGC).

Through this agreement, the bank will be sponsoring the Monthly Medal Competition, this being the most important monthly competition and played off full handicap.

The Monthly Medal is divided in three divisions, depending on the strength of the individual’s handicap. Furthermore, all competitions attract Order of Merit points and at the end of the year this is used as the basis on which the teams for Malta vs The Rest are selected.

Malta vs The Rest is one of the most prestigious events on the RMGC calendar.

Established in 1973, the top 10 Maltese and top ten foreign players compete for this coveted prize.

This year’s match-up is being held between September 9 and 11 and will see The Rest trying to break Malta’s stronghold on this competition which they have won for the last nine consecutive years.

The agreement was signed by Victor Denaro, Chief Officer IT at BOV and Guy Chamberlain, for RMGC.

“Through this agreement, Bank of Valletta is consolidating its position as a primary supporter of Malta’s sporting events,” Denaro said.

“Golf has seen a steady increase in popularity and attracts a healthy number of players from overseas.”
