Osvaldo: Roma agreed a €15m fee for Espanyol’s Pablo Daniel Osvaldo. Striker Osvaldo, who penned a four-year deal, has already played in Italy after spells with Fiorentina (2007-2009) and Bologna (2009-2010). The 25-year-old joins Bojan Krkic (Barcelona) and Erik Lamela (River Plate) as one Roma’s major summer signings.
Barrera: West Ham winger Pablo Barrera has joined Real Zaragoza on a season-long loan. The Mexico winger travelled to Spain for a medical, with the West Ham website explaining the player had been loaned out “after struggling to adapt to life to London”.
Alonso: Bolton left-back Marcos Alonso is expecting to be sidelined for up to two months by a foot injury. The Spaniard, who has started eight games for Bolton since joining from Real Madrid last year, said that he has broken a metatarsal.
Tamudo: La Liga newcomers Rayo Vallecano have signed former Spain international Raul Tamudo on a one-year contract. The 33-year-old Tamudo spent 14 years with Espanyol before joining Real Sociedad 12 months ago.
Pandev: Macedonian striker Goran Pandev left Inter for Serie A rivals Napoli on loan yesterday, the two clubs announced.“I don’t want to leave Inter, but Napoli will be a new experience. They are a big club who are playing in the Champions League,” said Pandev. Signed in January 2010 after five seasons at Lazio, Pandev scored twice in 27 matches in the last campaign.
Vargas: Colombian inter-national midfielder Fabian Vargas has joined AEK Athens on a one-year deal. The 31-year-old, who arrives from Spanish side Almeria, began his career with American Cali before enjoying two spells at Boca Juniors. In 2009 he joined Almeria. Vargas has played for the Colombian national team 41 times and has scored one goal.
Boyata: Manchester City have loaned their Belgian defender Dedryck Boyata to Bolton Wanderers until the end of the season, the two Premier League clubs announced yesterday. The 20-year-old Belgian inter-national made just seven league appearances for City last season.
