"When I was abroad a relative of mine fell ill on board a ryan air flight back to the u.k , she passed out for reasons because of her being a very bad diabetic. The crew rushed her a sandwich and a drink. When she took them she felt a bit better , but a doctor on-board insisted the crew to land because she was going in and out of consciousness and could have fallen into a coma. The following week she received a letter at her home, including a bill, a "medical fee" of some sort... and wait for it .. payment for the sandwich and drink ! " This story among others about payment was also posted on British newspapers including the times, the independent , the sun and the daily mail.

I was on this flight and want to congratulate the crew for handling the situation well. As I was watching the unusual events unfolding I was full of admiration for the air-hostesses who were handling the situation well!

I wonder if Ryanair will charge the passenger for falling ill and they had to pay extra fees in Ciampino plus delays etc

I was on that flight and i must say that the crew or Ryan air did a splendid Job and we only stayed in Ciampino airport for about 45 minutes. Passengers on board the plane all cooperated as it was evident that the passenger in question needed urgent medical help. And no one complained even though we were all on the plane ever since 7am (8 am malta time...)

@V Mercieca
what a useless comment. I wish the passenger a speedy recovery
