Għajnsielem welcomes the new bells

The village of Għajnsielem welcomed eight new bells that were manufactured in Normandy for the parish church of Our Lady of Loreto. The €600,000 project was completed in just three years thanks to a very hard-working archpriest and to the great generosity of this small village. After three years of living in this village I am still amazed at the attachment of the local people, and the emigrants who still maintain close links, with their village, and to the extent that they will go to increase works of art and better what they do in the village. It is indeed encouraging to see such a strong sense of voluntarism from the people working for the village feast, the band and other local clubs and the excellent local radio they have.

The village was all out in force to welcome the new bells which are not only going to enhance the musical call to the church services but also further enhance, through their majestic beauty, the village.
