Labour remembers Lord Strickland
Labour leader Joseph Muscat laid a wreath at the foot of former Prime Minister Gerald Strickland’s monument in Valletta, ahead of the 71 st anniversary of his death today.
Lord Strickland, founder of Allied Newspapers, the publishers of The Times and The Sunday Times, had been Prime Minister of a coalition government of the Constitutional Party and Labour Party in 1927. This was the first government to promote a progressive agenda in the country, the Labour Party said.
The party said it felt it should pay tribute to Lord Strickland as a sign of recognition of his commitment in favour of social and progressive legislation in the country.

.....and alas he stands alone, contemplating infront of the monument.
To apologise or not to apologise on behalf of his predecessors for that black day when Allied Newspapers were set on fire by a violent labour gangwhich was then called the aristocracy of the workers.
...Sorry ...is the word...very hard to spell out ...isn't it??

Naturally hoping that some of the Strickland family glory would filter down on to the LP worthy successors of the MLP mob that burned down the Strickland family printing presses with the workers trapped inside! Lest we forget!
