Australian singer-songwriter Carra is no stranger to the Maltese local scene. While visiting our island several times to spend time with his family and get familiar with his ancestral roots, he wasted no time in sharing his music, performing in various venues around Malta.

A prolific songwriter and established solo artist, Carra teamed up with three talented Australian musicians to form Caravãna Sun in 2009.

The Sydney-based dynamic four-piece, featuring Carra on guitar and vocals, Ant Beard on bass, Dan on trumpet and Big Al on drums and percussion, describes itself as a frenetic fusion of roots, surf, ambient and world music – “from the gypsy culture of southern France tothe mystery of Ord River in the Northern Territory”.

In similar fashion to Carra’s uplifting solo performances, the band’s shows offer a musical journey shaped by invigorating excursions inspired by world cultures and a soulful vibe that binds it all together; a mixture of invigorating ‘boppy’ reggae grooves and down-to-earth ‘feelgood’ lyrics.

The band released the single Feel Better earlier this summer, hitting the road for a promotional tour.

The single is available on iTunes and is taken off Caravãna Sun’s upcoming debut album, which is scheduled for release later this year.
