Floriana FC has halted negotiations with player Shola Haruna Shodiya's agent after learning that his visa had expired more than four weeks ago.

The club said in a statement it could not guarantee that this would be renewed and in view of its experience last year when it had to give up goalkeepker Lotfi Saidi because of similar circumstances.
