Obituary

AGIUS, on August 16, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPHINE, aged 84, from Dingli, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Victor and his wife Francoise, Prof. Carmelo Agius and his wife Anna, Margaret and her husband Andrew Psaila, Maria widow of Frans Borg, Reno, Rita and her husband Frans Attard, and Dr Francis Agius and his wife Glorianne, her sister Lucia Abela, her husband’s siblings and their families, grandchildren and their spouses, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3 p.m. for Dingli parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Dingli Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated.

BALZAN. On August 18, at Dar iċ-Ċenaklu, Birkirkara, Sr ROSA, of the Community Qaddejja taċ-Ċenaklu, aged 86, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss the sisters Qaddejja taċ-Ċenaklu, her sister Pia and her husband Michael Bonnici, Nicolina, widow of her brother Carmel and Anna, widow of her brother Nicholas, her nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Dar iċ-Ċenaklu today at 9.15 a.m. for the Dar tal-Kleru chapel, Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment in the Qaddejja taċ-Ċenaklu grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Kleru will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BRIFFA. On August 18, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPHINE (aka ĠUŻA), widow of Spiridione, from Sliema, passed away peacefully at the venerable age of 95, comforted by the rites of the Holy Roman Catholic Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Rose and her husband Alfred, John and his wife Doris, Manuel and Martin, her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, their spouses and partners, other relatives and friends, including the residents and staff of Casa Leone Retirement Home in St Julians. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9 a.m. for Sacro Cuor parish church in Sliema, where Holy Mass for the repose of her soul will be celebrated at 9.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request, but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Dear mother and grandmother, you have always been the golden link that has kept our family so close together over the years. We now all stand united in our boundless gratitude to you for your quiet strength and unselfish love. May the good Lord grant you eternal life and the peace and serenity you so richly deserve.

BUTTIGIEG. On August 18, VICTOR, of Attard, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, aged 60, surrounded by his loving family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Alice, his children Marushca and her husband Aldo, Omar and his wife Sue, Natasha and her fiancé Andrew, his mother Maria Stella, his mother-in-law Maria, his grandchildren Jake, Julia and Madeleine, siblings, in-laws and their spouses, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves from Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for St Mary’s parish church, Attard where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Divine Mercy Cemetery, St Paul`s Bay. No flowers by request but donations to Id- Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CAMILLERI. On August 18, SHARON, née Camilleri, aged 37, passed away peacefully after a long illness borne with Christian fortitude. She leaves to mourn her great loss her husband Jason, her daughters Kirsty and Yasmine, her mother and father Mary and Anthony, her brother Stephen, her in-laws, Alfred and Joyce, Christian and Pavla, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Għajn Dwieli church followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, and The Malta Community Chest Fund, Valletta, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
