Goalkeeper Justin Haber will miss Malta’s upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers at home to Croatia and Georgia due to injury.

Haber, one of the most experienced members of Malta’s squad, is expected to be sidelined for a month after hurting his calf during a training session with his Greek club Kerkyra on Wednesday.

The former Ferencvaros goalkeeper competes with Valletta’s Andrew Hogg for the no.1 jersey with the national team.

Haber came on for Hogg at the start of the second half during the 2-1 friendly win over the Central African Republic last week.

Marsaxlokk Reuben Gauci, Malta’s third-choice goalkeeper, is expected to take Haber’s place in the 18-man squad for next month’s qualifiers.

Malta resume their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign against Croatia on September 2 before hosting Georgia four days later.
