The widower of reality TV star Jade Goody was told to “grow up” by a magistrate as he was given community service for assaulting a man outside a bar.
Jack Tweed, 24, admitted common assault after punching Tom Grantham in the back of the head outside Deuces Bar and Lounge in Chigwell, Essex, in January.
He was given an 18-month supervision order, will do 100 hours of unpaid work, and must take part in a programme to prevent re-offending.
Mr Tweed must also pay £625 costs.
Mr Tweed vowed after the death of his wife Jade Goody that he would grow up, stay out of trouble and “be the man that Jade wanted me to be”.
The 24-year-old came under intense media scrutiny after the reality star died, with tales of his nights out with young women making headlines.
In September 2009 he was accused of raping a 19-year-old student but was cleared in April 2010. Tweed said the ordeal of being accused of the crime drove him to have suicidal thoughts.
He has been jailed twice in the past, once for an attack on a 16-year-old boy whom he hit with a golf club in Ongar, Essex, in December 2006, and once for drunkenly attacking a taxi driver after a night out in Epping, Essex, in May 2008.
He was on curfew after his release from prison for the taxi driver attack when he married Goody in February 2009. The terms of his curfew were relaxed to enable the couple to spend their wedding night together.
Tweed was born on June 9 1987 in Waltham Forest and first came to national public attention when he and Goody appeared on 2007’s Celebrity Big Brother.
He is now rumoured to be dating Jessica Wright, who appears in reality show the Only Way is Essex along with her brother Mark.
