Brazil: Brazil are to play Ghana in an international friendly in London next month. The five-time world champions will face the African heavyweights at Fulham’s Craven Cottage on September 5.

Salcido: Fulham defender Carlos Salcido has joined Mexican side Tigres on a season-long deal after failing to settle in England. Salcido, 31, joined Fulham last season from PSV but had grown increasingly unsettled following a robbery at his home.

Munro dies: Former Wolves and Scotland defender Frank Munro has died following a heart attack. He was 63. Munro re-presented Scotland nine times during his career but was most famous for his nine years at Wolves between 1968 and 1977, where he helped the club win the League Cup in 1974.

Koller: Czech striker Jan Koller, the Czech Republic’s record goal-scorer, has hung up his boots at the age of 38 for health reasons. The towering forward with 55 goals in 91 games for the Czech Republic last played for Cannes in France’s third division.

Carroll: Former Manchester United goalkeeper Roy Carroll has signed a two-year contract with OFI Crete, the Greek Super League club. Carroll, 34, joined West Ham United in the summer of 2005 and has since turned out for Rangers, Derby County and Danish side Odense Boldklub, where he has been playing since 2009.

Lucio: Brazil centre-back Lucio has signed a two-year contract extension tying him down to Inter until 2014. The 33-year-old joined Inter from Bayern Munich on a three-year deal in 2009.
