Didavi: Nuremberg have been dealt a further blow after losing 2-1 against Hannover on Saturday with the news that Daniel Didavi faces two months on the sidelines due to a knee injury. The Germany Under-21 international will be operated on this week and will not return for at least eight weeks. The 21-year-old joined Nuremberg in the summer on loan from Stuttgart and he has impressed in his first two games for the club.

Kjaer: Simon Kjaer’s agent has claimed that reports linking the Wolfsburg defender with an imminent transfer to Roma are “only rumours”. Speculation intensified over the weekend that Roma were targeting ex-Palermo centre-back Kjaer to reinforce their leaky defence. “I read the stories, but have had no concrete evidence of the links,” Mikkel Beck told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “Nobody from Wolfsburg has talked to me about an agreement with Roma. So far these are only rumours.”

Atalanta: Atalanta expect to complete the signing German Denis from Udinese in the next few days. The deal has been agreed to bring the Argentine striker to the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia this summer. “There’s no maybe about it. We are just waiting for his agent Leo Rodriguez to arrive so we can put pen to paper with Denis,” Atalanta director Pierpaolo Marino was quoted as saying yesterday.

Caracciolo: Andrea Caracciolo has rejected a lucrative offer from a Russian club but denied that he has struck a deal with Serie A sides Parma or Chievo. The 29-year-old striker is pushing for a transfer following Brescia’s relegation to Serie B and has been heavily linked with Rubin Kazan and Rangers. “Caracciolo turned down an enticing offer from Russia,” the player’s agent Vincenzo D’Amico confirmed yesterday.
