Great Siege becomes Great Splash

The Great Siege was recreated with a twist by local companies Jugs Malta, the Malta Experience, Captain Morgan and Island Caterers earlier this month, as they joined forces to treat local destination management companies and tour operators to an afternoon of teambuilding.

Dubbed ‘The Great Splash 1565’, the afternoon’s activities started with a private screening of the Malta Experience in their new premises at the Sagristija Vault at the Valletta Waterfront.

Delegates were then divided into team Turks and team Knights and they boarded decked out ‘galleons’, which set sail into the Grand Harbour in a mock-up recreation of the Great Siege of 1565.

After some strategising, a fully-fledged water fight ensued which defied history and ended with the Turks crowned as winners.

This teambuilding activity was followed by a reception held on the terrace of the Malta Experience, where Ira Losco and her band provided the musical entertainment.
