The Malta Motorsport Federation, with the support of the FIA Institute (FIAI) for Motor Sport Safety and Sustainability and Kunsill Malti għall-iSport (KMS), and through the assistance of the Motor Sports Association UK (MSAUK), will host the first FIA Institute Performance Master Classes next month.

This programme was developed by the MSAUK to help young people become better competitors.

The principle is common across a range of other sports but the MSAUK version has been tailor-made to the needs of motor sport.

Applications are open to drivers aged between 16 and 23 and who are in current membership of one or more of the Affiliated Member Clubs within the federation.

The workshops will be staged on September 23 and 24.

The content covers a variety of topics including Goal Setting, Nutrition, Determination, Communications, Sponsorship, Tactical and Anti-Doping issues.

Also included within the time-table will be a session for ‘Racing Parents’ which is open to parents and guardians of eligible participants only.

Parents of a young competitor know how tough it can be.

With a series of varied roles to fulfil, whether as unofficial sponsor, manager, mechanic or just best friend, it can be tricky getting the balance right.

The Racing Parent session will help participants to avoid some of the common pitfalls and ensure that what they are doing is in the best interests of their loved ones.
