A drug addict who tried to sell cannabis to two 14-year-old Austrian students and their group leader was yesterday jailed for a year. Stephen Nappa, 30, of Valletta was caught because the students reported him to the police and gave a description of what he looked like shortly after the incident at City Gate, in Valletta on Tuesday at about 6.30 p.m.

Mr Nappa pleaded guilty to trafficking cannabis, being in possession of the drug and of having heroin the following day and relapsing.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi recommended that Mr Nappa attend a rehabilitation programme.

Police Inspector James Grech prosecuted.

Lawyer Anġlu Farrugia appeared for Mr Nappa.
