Rubbish bins in Sliema

I refer to Derek Fenech’s letter of August 2 and would like to inform him that as the letter was in the process of being published all of the litter bins on the Sliema promenade were being replaced with new ones.

These used bins will, in turn, be refurbished completely and will replace the smaller, more unsuitable, bins found in the inner streets. Not all residents are happy to have a public bin in close proximity to their house; whenever a new bin was installed neighbours always expressed dissatisfaction.

However, in the event of any difficulty I urge him to call the Sliema local council in order to schedule a meeting to discuss matters further.
