A 15-year-old boy was this morning accused in court with having slightly injured three policemen in the early hours of this morning in Hamrun.

He was arraigned along with a 21-year-old relative, who pleaded not guilty to driving a motorbike without a licence or insurance and without wearing a crash helmet. He also denied relapsing.

Sources said that the two were at a family party where a four-year-old boy was crying incessantly. In order to stop him crying, they decided to take him on a ride on the motorbike.

The police stopped them and the accused became violent with the policemen.

Defence lawyer Michael Schriha requested bail. His request was granted against a personal guarantee of €500 each. The court ordered a ban on the name of the 21-year-old since his identity would reveal that of the minor.
