A 22-year-old man was yesterday granted bail after pleading not guilty to trying to steal a car and damaging another on Sunday evening shortly after the Ħamrun feast.

Wayne Joseph Camilleri from Naxxar was also accused of attacking police officers, disobeying orders and swearing in public. Magistrate Marseann Farrugia granted him bail against a personal guarantee of €2,000 and a deposit of €1,000.

Lawyer Veronique Dalli appeared for the accused.
