Starbene boost for Keith Galea

Keith Galea, a product of Birkirkara St Joseph Sports Club, is again regarded among the favourites to win this year’s National Championship, especially on the back of his recent performance in the last Sprint Triathlon Event which he won in an impressive time of 59 minutes 55 seconds.

Currently Galea, 23, is undergoing intensive training in view of his forthcoming commitments. A few days ago, his efforts received a terrific boost as the Malta champion sealed a sponsorship deal with Mosta-based Starbene Sports Nutrition Centre.

At the moment, Galea is leading the overall classifications in both the Birkirkara SJ Triathlon Series and the Triathlete of the Year Award.

So far, 2011 has been a very successful year for the Birkirkara man as Galea claimed a bronze medal in the Triathlon Championships of the Small States of Europe, was the fourth Maltese and 15th overall in the Tour ta’ Malta (cycling), was sixth overall and second in his age-group at the Bedford Classic Tri in the UK, and regularly figured in the top five in local running and cycling races.
