Mark Lombardi, an accountancy student at the Richard Clarke Academy, Guardamangia, is one of five students worldwide who have been awarded this year’s ACCA Simpson Scholarship. The other winners come from the UK, China, Russia and Nigeria.
To be awarded the scholarship, applicants have to achieve the highest standards in the exams they have already sat for, and submit a 1,000-word essay on how the scholarship would help them achieve their full potential.
As a recipient of the scholarship Mr Lombardi will be provided with study materials and have his exam fees, annual student or affiliate fees and membership admission fees paid for up to five years, or until ACCA membership is achieved.
The scholarship was set up following the death of Muriel Simpson, FCCA, who left in her will a bequest to ACCA to fund a scholarship to further the education of ACCA students who have proven themselves to be of sufficient merit and distinction in ACCA examinations.
