A new service to be launched next year will take people from the Valletta Waterfront to Gozo.

Valletta Cruise Port CEO John Portelli said that the vessels, carrying 150 people at a time, will operate according to demand and will make it easier for cruise passengers to visit Malta’s sister island. They will leave from the Waterfront’s laguna.

Mr Portelli also envisages that the service will complement the Barrakka lift that will take people up to Valletta once it is back in action.

Water taxis launched last month already provide a ferry service from the Waterfront to Gozo, besides locations in Malta.
