A new temporary walkway has been erected to connect Qui-Si-Sana to Tigne’ Point, for the convenience of pedestrians. The temporary access route allows pedestrians at Qui-Si-Sana to enter The Point, Pjazza Tigne’ and the Tigne’ Car Park, without having to walk through the tunnel, or up the hill and all the way round through Tigne’ Street.

The new pedestrian walkway is a temporary access route. Eventually the permanent access route will be built as part of the Tigne’ North development. The open walkway around the regenerated peninsula will connect the Tigne’ foreshore public promenade to the North Piazza and The Point, via a bridge over the 19th century Garden Battery fortification which will be restored to its former state by Midi plc.

“Those out on an evening summer stroll along the Qui-Si-Sana seafront can take the pedestrian passage to Pjazza Tigne’ and continue their stroll into Sliema,” said Ben Muscat, Midi chief executive officer.

“The new walkway makes it more convenient for those on the Qui-Si-Sana side of Sliema to frequent The Point and Pjazza Tigne’s retail stores, which cater for every need from groceries to high fashion, cafes and restaurants. The 1,200 car underground car park makes a visit to Qui-Si-Sana, The Ferries, Bisazza Street and Tower Road areas, easier and more accessible due to its very competitive rates, especially for long periods.”

Entrance to the walkway from Qui-Si-Sana is at the right hand side of the tunnel while entrance to the pedestrian route from The Point is at the Car Park Level 0 (to the right of the shopping mall entrance). The walkway is open daily between 8 a.m. and midnight.
