L-Istrina to be held at Verdala

This year’s L-Istrina will be held at Verdala Palace in Buskett on Boxing Day, after President George Abela met with the heads of the television stations PBS, One and Net. Verdala Palace is the President’s summer residence.

In previous years the event was held in one of Lufthansa Technik’s hangars.

A survey on this popular fund-raising event was carried out among a sample of 500 respondents. They were asked questions to determine whether to hold the event on Christmas Day, which will this year fall on a Sunday, or the following day, as is the norm.

Just over 83 per cent of respondents said they do not work on Boxing Day and when asked if they would prefer L-Istrina to be held on Christmas Day or Boxing Day, almost half said they preferred the latter.

The survey also showed that 88 per cent of female respondents watch L-Istrina and more than half of viewers watch it from start to finish. On the day, 90 per cent said they donated money.
