Tenants have the opportunity of owning the Cottonera apartments they live in, thanks to a government scheme that was made possible because the title of these properties has finally been passed on to the Housing Authority.

Fifty-eight apartments in Vittoriosa, 64 in Senglea and 18 in Cospicua, where, in some cases, people have been living for many years, are up for sale to their tenants at a cost that is being subsidised by the government, it was announced yesterday.

Ninvesti fid-Dar Tiegħi (Investing In My House) is in line with the government’s policy to make it easier for more people to become home owners and is being followed by another scheme, Sir Sid ta’ Darek (Own Your Home) that is being launched later in the year.
