Photographers have been invited to take part in a competition entitled Seaside Impressions, aimed at emphasising the beauty of Malta’s natural heritage.
The Blue Flag Photographic competition is being organised by the Malta Tourism Authority in association with the Malta Institute of Professional Photographers.
The MTA said it was managing a number of beaches to high international standards after St George’s Bay and the Buġibba perched beach again received Blue Flag status earlier this year.
Blue Flag is an international eco label assessing beaches on management, health and safety, information and education and bathing water quality.
In addition, the MTA relaunched two of its campaigns: Books On The Beach encourages people to read while relaxing on the sand while Butts Off The Sand involves the installation of cigarette stands and the distribution of portable ashtrays.
