Donation made to Appoġġ

The Lions Club, St Paul’s Bay, recently made a donation to Appoġġ Għabex Emergency Shelter.

The donation consisted of bedroom and bathroom linen, bathroom accessories, dining room cutlery and crockery. The donation was specifically aimed at creating a more home-like environment at the Għabex shelter.

Appoġġ thanked the Lions Club and its members for their donation and the work they put into fundraising, adding that the donation would contribute to improving the quality of life of victims of domesticviolence as well as the children residing at Għabex.

The shelter, set up in October 2000, provides a safe environment to female victims of domestic violence and their children.

People who require assistance can contact the Domestic Violence Services within Aġenzija Appoġġ on supportline 179. Cases of domestic violence can also be reported to the police.
