Gers eye Goodwillie swoop

Rangers manager Ally McCoist has not given up his pursuit of David Goodwillie even though a move south of the border now appears more likely for the Dundee United striker.

The 22-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Blackburn after the Scottish champions failed with a previous bid for the player, who has been valued at £2 million by Dundee United.

McCoist is keen to strengthen his squad further and confirmed that Goodwillie was still a target.

He said: “What I would say is, if we had an opportunity to bring David Goodwillie to Glasgow Rangers, then I would like to take that.”
