The Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin is disappointed at the time it is taking the government to recruit new clerks.

The UĦM said the results of the exam pertaining to 371 people had been published on June 24 last year and were valid for two years. To this day, the government had only called upon 68 candidates, 45 of whom had accepted. The recruitment took place in two stages and during the last stage only five people were called, it said.

The UĦM said there was a severe shortage of clerks in every government department and pointed out that in the Budget speech of 2011 it was stated that, for every two workers who retired, one would be recruited.
