Entitled Living Beyond Epilepsy – A Resource For Educators, the information pack was prepared by the Caritas Malta Epilepsy Association and is part of an awareness campaign on epilepsy,
It is estimated that 40 per cent of children with epilepsy have difficulties at school and the information pack explains what epilepsy is, gives information on seizures in schools and what to do in case of a seizure. It also includes a checklist for teachers.
Education Minister Dolores Cristina welcomed the initiative and Caritas director Mgr Victor Grech said the organisation was working hard to raise awareness and dispel myths about epilepsy.
