The Apple iPad 2 will be officially available in Malta on Monday, as i-Tech revealed last week.
Apple is due to make the official announcement in the coming days, adding Malta to the growing list of countries that provide sales and support for the most popular tablet on the market first launched last year, i-Tech has learned.
iPad 2 will be available from iCentre of Pieta’, Apple’s official authorised service provider in Malta. Prices start from €499. Although the iPad was already available in Malta at a premium from some independent vendors, there was no official support from Apple or its local representative. There are no details as yet of any data plans from the Maltese mobile companies on internet connectivity for the 3G version of the iPad 2. However i-Tech is informed there is strong interest from more than one operator. Vodafone Malta has already hinted on its website that it will be selling the iPad 2, adding it to the Apple iPhone smartphone which it officially sells and supports.
