Two Senegalese men were yesterday handed suspended jail terms after admitting to selling counterfeit sunglasses, wallets and watches at Armier Bay.

Djily Gueye, 27, and Bassirou Ndiaye, 26, both from Spain but originally from Diourbel and Gorbel in Senegal respectively, were caught selling the items on Tuesday.

Magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona handed down a six-month jail term suspended for one year after taking into consideration their clean police record.

He warned them that if they commit another crime, not just in Malta but also within the EU, this conviction would be included in their criminal record.
