A business delegation of more than 25 entrepreneurs from the Ukraine and the Commonwealth of Independent States was in Malta recently on a fact-finding and networking visit.

Organised by Malta Enterprise in conjunction with Europe Business Circles, the trade mission sought to promote business cooperation between firms and highlight the bilateral trade and investment opportunities.

Welcoming the visitors at a seminar themed “Malta is open for business”, Malta Enterprise chief operating officer Sue Vella spoke of the favourable investment policy and myriad incentives aimed at creating the right environment for businesses to set up and prosper in Malta.

The Consul for Ukraine, John Debono, and the chief executive officer of the Assembly of Business Circles in Ukraine Anton Savvov and representatives of entities or organisations based in Malta addressed the guests.

Companies operating in healthcare, education, transport and logistics, ICT and back-office services, as well as financial services attended the event.

The seminar was followed by a series of business-to-business meetings between the Ukrainian and Maltese companies.
