Emanuel Cini, the man claiming to be on a hunger strike and demanding the Transport Minister’s resignation, confirmed he is eating again after a meeting with the Prime Minister.
Mr Cini had demanded Austin Gatt’s resignation after he said he could no longer catch bus 22 from Cospicua, where he lives, to Marsascala, where he used to go to swim and for therapy. Because of a condition he has, Mr Cini said he could not risk staying out in the sun for long.
Lawrence Gonzi persuaded Mr Cini to have something to eat and Mr Cini had a kiwi.
Following the meeting, Dr Gonzi sent an e-mail to Mr Cini thanking him for the opportunity to meet him and discuss “the new bus routes announced as a result of the public transport reform”.
Mr Cini forwarded Dr Gonzi’s e-mail to the media.
