A port worker who alleged punched his former partner and fractured her jaw was granted bail today.

Manolito Magri, 30 of Sta Venera, pleaded not guilty to having punched his former girlfriend at an apartment they used to share.

He also denied threatening the woman and relapsing.

Defence counsel Jose' Herrera during pleas on bail said these port workers worked hard, lived hard, and sometimes drank too much.

Bail was granted against a personal guarantee of €1,000.
